Maria y Ludwig zine

This was a little zine i made last year.

It was inspired by the arrest of Maria Mayer, and Ludwig Gisch in Slovenia, 2023.

They were charged with espionage, and ultimately sent back to Russia in 2024.

While undercover in Ljubljana, Maria ran a gallery called 5'14. At the time i was researching the arrest, all of Gallery 5'14's social media pages were still up and running. They've since been taken down. Some of the text is copied from these websites. some is copied from Joanna Russ' 1976 We Who Are About To...

Sorry about the poor image quality. Please email if you'd like to read it.

 Poorloin

Holding court with roman candles

my sinking conspirators levelling alienated pause to pause.

Douglas fir and mottled fig

forgiving damp nettled mattress

There are words that I can so comfortably write but cannot say

Exalted, stewed,

After every seventh flame a stinging white light, the match struck on bone

tended

plugging digested mineral with morning-wet fiber.

Outgoing tides of Waihi threading cochlear, ringing and chalky

sud stones

trailing across luminescent sand,

densely packed

toasted grist.

soaked and crumpled, tissue paper underwear

damp flayed

taught on the flat stone to sun-dry.

Hurried solitude of wide gums,

exalted to the violet caws

of pushing outward.

Blind silence of the deep

sink a constipated pit.

Crust sifted to condensation

oil-slick.

tiny white helical colon

one million teething in radiant-

heat.

The thick green like a grout in between giants which are tiles and are pocked and waving. Travelling (driving) which is through or with that desireless thickness that comes from my Pa or the anxiety which makes everything monumental even breathing.

I feel ugly like a man

Full bladder

bulging unpicking at the bellybutton

pad of wax cooled on the tongue crumbling into bits of Greek feta

salty dermal frottage

curing a group

Holding a fist full of olives with brine that seeps through my fingers

Holding two wet oysters with brine that slips through my fingers

In  a conversation with four wet oysters

In a shell with a horticulture student

Coagulating in the shell with the horticulturalist

In  anywhere between twelve

                                                                                     In anywhere between lists

Anywhere with people to spread
